The World is Changing. Is Humanity Changing With It?

When I am in the world interacting with others and in nature I can see and feel that great change is among us. Yet, when I see and talk with others I don’t feel that most see this change. I know they can feel it; for feeling this change is inevitable, it is certain to come and it is unavoidable to deny. Yet there is much denial from humanity.

“In considering the Great Waves of change that are coming to the world and humanity’s encounter with intelligent life in the universe—the two great events of this era of human evolution—it is necessary to understand what one must do to adapt to these changing circumstances. For even if humanity musters a great effort to counteract the impact of a deteriorating environment; of a changing climate; of diminishing food, water and energy resources; and even if humanity were to gain a greater unity and cooperation in facing the reality that your world is being penetrated by forces from beyond, from the universe in which you live, you will still have to adapt to changing circumstances.”

“This adaptation then must be accepted, for if you think that technology, or some kind of magic, or government policy will be able to prevent this requirement for adaptation, you will be making a very serious mistake and will be denying yourselves the time necessary to prepare for a great change in your circumstances.”

“Many people today, of course, sense that deprivation will be coming and that things will have to change very dramatically. But often they do not see the scope of this, thinking that it can be remediated, thinking that it can be moderated by humanity’s efforts now. And, of course, these efforts are vital and necessary and should not be undermined for any reason.”https://www.newmessage.org/the-message/volume-2/preparing-for-the-great-waves-of-change/adapting-to-great-change

One cannot begin to change the outer layers of the physical environment in which they live until one changes the inner layers within themselves. This takes unlearning and practicing to learn anew. It takes being open minded and having the ability to see clearly the bigger picture we are all a part of. It takes a reset of the mind wiping away all the conditioning and idealism which exists in the layers of experience each one of us has up until now at this very moment. This conditioning creates the beliefs and ideas we each of regarding certain things in life which block us from seeing the truer reality present among us. Real Change is necessary here and the Real Change I speak of begins and starts within each of us. https://www.newmessage.org/the-message/volume-1/the-reformation/real-change

“It is becoming evident to ever increasing numbers of people that great change is needed if humanity is to meet the challenges of its time. Great change is needed in how governments function and in how people behave and respond. Great change is needed in many organizations and institutions to adapt to a changing set of circumstances in the world.”

“Many people proclaim the need for change, but they want other people to change. They themselves do not want to really change. They want to hold on to their privileges and benefits and have more, and lash out at anyone or anything they think will threaten their entitlements and their possessions. There is a clamoring for change, but who will change, and what will change?”

“People who are wealthy want to keep their wealth and have more. People who are not wealthy want wealth, and they need many practical things. Then, of course, there are vast and ever-growing numbers of people in the world who cannot even meet the daily requirements of life. They need reliable and sufficient sources of food, they need political stability, they need security and they need ethical governance.”

“These needs are immense and growing. But you must ask yourself who will have to change here? While you may point the finger at certain people or institutions, if you are really honest in your questioning, you must come down to yourself.”

“You must assess your real needs, the deeper needs within yourself, and contrast them with your preferences and your desires. If a need is genuine, it stands apart from what you simply want. There are primary needs of course—the need for food, water, shelter, safety and security. There is the need for true companionship, a need to be engaged with other people in meaningful and productive ways. These are essential needs. They must be met or you cannot function in the world.”

“Then, of course, there is the need for a greater kind of relationship based upon what you are really here to accomplish. That begins to move you into a higher level of need, the need of the soul—the need to find the deeper Knowledge that God has placed within you to guide you, to protect you and to lead you to a greater life within the world. There are psychological needs for creativity and productivity, for recognition from others and for honest and productive communication.”

“To meet these needs within yourself, you must change. You have basic fundamental needs, you have psychological needs, and then you have the need of the soul. To meet these needs, you cannot be what your past has shaped you to be so far. You may want the world to change around you, and you may agitate for this, and perhaps your requests are genuine. But fundamentally you must change, or you cannot meet the needs of the body, the needs of the mind and the need of the soul. You cannot simply demand that the world gives you everything you think you want, for you do not even really know what you need beyond the basic requirements of life.”

“Many people want and demand change in the world. They see a genuine need for change, but they themselves are unwilling to change. They are unwilling to reevaluate their thinking, their behavior, their engagements, their beliefs and their attitudes. So they agitate for change on the outside, but they themselves will not change. They are as entrenched in their position as the people they claim to oppose. So you have conflict in the world by opposing parties that are entrenched in their views. They are unwilling to change.”

“People claim they want peace and they are working for peace, but you see, they are unwilling to question or relinquish their position and that in itself makes peace impossible to achieve. Even to adapt to the Great Waves of change that are coming to the world, you will really have to change the way you think, what you expect of yourself and others and how you live. Real, fundamental change here is required just to be able to meet the changing circumstances of your life.”

“So there is a lot of talk about change, but not a lot of real change. To be really responsible here, you must look at your life, your beliefs and your expectations and assumptions, to really see what is going to work in the real world, in the world you see today, and in the change you see coming over the horizon. It is dishonest to demand change and to expect change, when you yourself are not willing to change. To say, “Well, I will change if other people change,” is dishonest. That is placing the responsibility beyond yourself. That is dishonest. You have to change even if other people do not change. That is your commitment.”

“Real change is a change of heart. It is a change in the way you feel about things and a change in the way you see yourself and your life. It is a change not only in perception, but in what you choose to do as a result. That is the real change.”

Looking within. Changing within so we may change without.

Sometimes for me it is helpful to look up on a clear day or night and see the beauty of this world and to recognize that I carry this same beauty within me. A beauty and a truth which is a part of me in this life and the life beyond this world. This is the power we each have within us. To know, to see and to think more clearly by looking within our inner most selves and feel this deeper intelligence which is guiding us and protecting us in this life so that we may find our purpose that exists within us and fulfill it. This is our destiny. To give the gifts we each have to others and to this world in great need is what brings value and meaning to our own lives and the lives of others and to the life of the world and its environment in which we live. We are stewards of this planet and we have been given such a beautiful planet to experience physical life. For where we come from is a place of being and the beauty there is all around because it is all within. Here there is beauty to do. Here we live in a reality of doing instead of being. Doing the things that brings value into the world so that we all may feel the beauty of life and the connection we have to it.

We are stewards of this planet and it is our responsibility to take care of what we have been given.

Here is a Step from the Steps of Knowledge which gives us the knowledge of what we hold within and the power it gives us to change from within so that we may change without.

Step 242

https://stepstoknowledge.com/steps/Step242-My-greatest-gift-to-the-world-is-my-Knowledge.htm

My greatest gift to the world is my Knowledge.

“THIS IS YOUR GREATEST GIFT. It is the gift that imbues all other giving and gives it meaning. This is the gift that gives value to all human expression, all human endeavor and all human invention that is intended to support the well-being of humanity in its evolution. Knowledge is not something that you can quantify and give, as if you put it into a package or delineate it with your ideas. It is a presence and a quality of life that is the very essence of life. It makes all giving and contribution meaningful.”

“THIS IS YOUR GREATEST GIFT, which you are now learning to receive. As you receive it, it will give itself naturally, for you cannot keep Knowledge for yourself. Once it emerges, it begins to express itself in all directions and specifically in certain directions and in certain involvements with certain people according to its design and Wisdom. Thus, if you receive Knowledge, it must be given. It will give itself, and you will want to give it because you possess wealth, and wealth can only be increased through giving. Thus, in essence, life is all about the giving of Knowledge. Wherever this giving cannot be accomplished, there is all manner of deception, disappointment and despair. But when giving is reactivated in these circumstances, these qualities of denial will be dispelled, and Knowledge will once again begin to express itself in very specific ways.”

THEREFORE, UPON THE HOUR remind yourself of this great truth, and in your deeper meditations allow yourself to experience Knowledge. Allow yourself to receive it. Give yourself to this application of your mind and your body. In this, Knowledge will give itself, and you will be fulfilled because you have given life the greatest gift that can be given.”

Practice 242: Two 30-minute practice periods. Hourly practice.

Change is not something to be fearful of. It is a beauty of life for without change there is no growth, there is no evolution and there is no beauty without change. Blessings to all of you in this life and in this world. Nasi Novare Coram “The Presence of the Teachers is With Us.”
